Aneesa was born in country New South Wales but moved to Brisbane for secondary school. She attained her medical degree at the University of Queensland before relocating to Cairns to complete her General Practice Fellowship. Aneesa has a special interest in children’s, women’s and Indigenous health – having previously worked with True Relationships and Reproductive Health (formerly Family Planning Queensland) and Aboriginal Medical Services in North Queensland. In keeping with her interests, she has completed additional training including the National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health, Diploma of Child Health at the University of Sydney and Certificate in Primary Care Skin Cancer Medicine. She is also certified to insert/remove intrauterine devices and contraceptive implants. Outside of medicine Aneesa enjoys the cinema, good food and travel.
