Andrew Parkin is Unit Head and Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist on the Adolescent & Family Unit, Redbank House, and holds a Conjoint Senior Lecturer in Child Psychiatry at the University of Western Sydney. He has previously worked in New Zealand and the UK in child and adolescent mental health services, youth drug and alcohol services, conduct disorder services, youth forensic services, services for children in out of home care, and Pacific Island services. He has recently co-authored the NSW CAMHS Competency Framework and is involved in its implementation. His PhD research was on children’s perception of the emotional quality of relations, and his research interests have included routine outcome measurement, deliberate self harm presentations in ED, service development, IT in clinical services, and developing quality postgraduate training.
