Dr Andrew Kennedy (Paediatrician)

Andrew is a General Paediatrician and Adolescent Medicine physician. After completing paediatric training he did a 2 year fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Westmead Hospital. Subsequent roles included Clinical Leader at the Centre for Adolescent Health at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne for 4 year followed by 5 years as co-lead of the Adolescent Medicine team at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth. He returned to Sydney at the start of 2014 and currently works part time as Clinical Director Adolescent Health in Justice Health and as a senior clinician in the Complex Adolescent Clinic at Children’s Hospital Westmead.

​Andrew’s main areas of experience and interest include mood and behavioural problems including ADHD, anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic illness, somataform disorders as well as eating disorders. He is passionate about young people’s health and enjoys helping young people with school attendance issues due to health problems get back on their feet. His approach is to look at all aspects of health: physical, mental and social and to put the young person at the centre of the consultation, however the family are also extensively involved in consultations. Andrew is the chair of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians committee for Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine and is immediate past vice President of the Australian Association for Adolescent Health.
