Ananth graduated from University of Newcastle upon Tyne, UK in 1990. He did physician training in the UK, obtaining membership of the royal college of physicians (UK). He did cardiology registrar training at King’s College hospital, London. In 1998 he came to Sydney and obtained a PhD in Cardiology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital/University of Sydney. During this time he attained Fellowship of the royal austalasian college of physicians. He trained in interventional cardiology at Prince of Wales Hospital/Eastern Heart Clinic. In 2003 he was appointed staff specialist in cardiology at St George Hospital. He has interests in complex coronary intervention and pacing. He consults both at St George Private Hospital and Southern Cardiology, Miranda in all aspects of cardiology
Research/Teaching/Education
Ananth has authored over 20 publications in cardiology journals. He has presented research at many national and international meetings. He is a senior lecturer with the University of New South Wales. He teaches medical students and registrars and is actively involved in research related to coronary intervention. He has been director for international cardiology clinical trials at St George Hospital for over 10 years.
