AMANDA MCGRATH holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a Masters of Science and an Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Sydney. She is an Associate Member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

Amanda takes care to develop tailored, flexible treatment plans that best support the client’s needs. She uses an integrative approach, drawing on evidence-based treatment models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Dialectal Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and attachment-focused therapy, particularly in her work with children and their parents.

Amanda has experience working with adults, groups, children and families in a range of hospital and clinical settings. She has provided clinical assessment and treatment for a range of difficulties, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, emotion regulation difficulties, bereavement, life adjustment, and relational problems. She has a particular interest in health psychology, including adjustment to physical illness, pregnancy and infertility issues, and psycho-oncology. In addition to her clinical work, Amanda’s Masters thesis involved the development of a decision aid tool to assist women with epilepsy make decisions about pregnancy. She has published research in this area.
