Dr Almayne du Preez graduated from Stellenbosch University in South Africa in 1991. She worked in hospitals in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and the UK and completed a Diploma in Anaesthetics before starting to work as a GP in 1996. She regularly assisted local surgeons and gained a lot of experience in especially Orthopaedic surgery.
She immigrated to Western Australia with her family in 2010 where she was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She works at Ocean Reef Medical Centre as well as BMI in Joondalup. Her special interests are women’s health and mental health and she is competent in insertion of the Mirena and copper IUD and Implanon.
