Dr Hanks graduated from the University of Queensland in 2013. After graduation she moved to the Sunshine Coast where she worked in a range of medical specialty areas. She completed her general practice training in Cairns before moving back to the Sunshine Coast with her husband and young family.
Alison is able to provide care in all areas of general practice but has a special interest in chronic disease management, preventative care, family planning, and child health - including supporting new families. She has completed the Sydney Child Health Program from the University of Westmead (formerly known as Diploma of Child Health) and Family Planning National Certificate in Reproductive and Sexual Health.
She is also accredited in Neuroprotective Developmental Care, otherwise known as the ‘Possums program’ where she aims to support families with challenges they may be facing as new parents. This includes breastfeeding challenges, baby sleep and cry-fuss problems, and parent mental health.
