Dr Adam Martin is a Sydney-based Forensic Psychiatrist. He completed his undergraduate medical studies in London in 1994 and trained as a psychiatrist in Sydney becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists in 2006. He was awarded an Advanced Certificate of Forensic Psychiatry and completed a Masters of Forensic Mental Health in 2008 through the University of New South Wales. He has extensive experience in preparing written psychiatric reports in criminal and civil matters and has given expert evidence in Local, District and Supreme Court hearings. He also currently works as a treating psychiatrist at the Forensic Hospital in Sydney, and has held posts including Clinical Director of the service responsible for mental health provision across New South Wales Correctional Centres, and was Deputy Clinical Director at the time of the commissioning of the Forensic Hospital. He works in private practice with an interest in adult general psychiatry, preparation of reports in criminal matters for defence and prosecution, and reports in Workers’ Compensation cases.
