Dr Abbie Bingham grew up in Sydney and moved to Newcastle to study Medicine, graduating from The University of Newcastle in 1992. After completing her internship in Sydney she decided Newcastle was a far better place to live and hasn't left since. She trained in Paediatrics at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital for 3 years before specialising in General Practice. She enjoys all aspects of family medicine, particularly the privilege of caring for multiple generations of the one family. She has a special interest in children's health, and maternity and postnatal care. She also has further qualifications in Skin Cancer Medicine from the University of Queensland. When not working Abbie loves gardening, sewing, art and music. Her major challenge in life is keeping the house stocked with enough food for her two teenaged boys.
