Daniel specialises in treating anxiety disorders, depression and emotional dysregulation in children, adolescents and adults through a warm and personable approach.
Daniel has experience working with the Child Youth Mental Health Service team at Royal North Shore Hospital where he has developed his ability to effectively treat diverse mental health presentations in children and adolescents using multiple sources to better understand young people’s mental health concerns and tailor management strategies for both individuals and families. Daniel also has experience working in private psychiatric hospitals with adults diagnosed with personality, mood and substance abuse disorders, providing individual and group therapy.
Daniel has also worked with children, adolescents, families and adults in private practice where he has developed valuable skills in the assessment and intervention of a wide variety of mental health presentations. Further to this, Daniel has worked as a therapist and in research at the renowned Centre for Emotional Health Clinic at Macquarie University, which has a specific focus on anxiety treatment, and The University of Newcastle’s Functional Neuroimaging Laboratory where he gained experience in how to integrate information from a scientific, research and therapeutic basis to best achieve outcomes.
Daniel has published a number of research articles in international journals, which together formed the content of his PhD, with a focus on learning; Daniel's work has clinical implications for cognitive deficits and attentional control in schizophrenia.
Daniel works with clients in an open, respectful and collaborative way utilising evidence-based treatments, including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT).
