Daisy Gibson is a psychologist and gut-directed hypnotherapist. She is a friendly and enthusiastic member of our team and she brings her naturally empathetic nature to her work. Daisy has experience in a broad range of settings including community health, private practice, and university and school counselling services. She has also worked as a hypnotherapist at the Alfred Hospital Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders Clinic. Daisy successfully completed her Masters of Psychology (Clinical) at the Australian Catholic University in 2017 and a Certificate IV in Clinical Hypnotherapy at the Academy of Hypnotic Science in 2014. She holds memberships with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Daisy is passionate about the role of the brain-gut axis in people with gastrointestinal disorders and works from an evidence-based framework. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and enhanced relaxation techniques are often used in her practice. She encourages a multidisciplinary approach, and communicates closely with GPs, gastroenterologists and other health care professionals, in order to ensure best practice.
