The Royal Adelaide Hospital Cardiothoracic Surgical Unit is a separate surgical suite maintaining a preoperative ward and ICU devoted solely to adult heart and chest surgery. The Cardiac service is a progressive unit that continually strives to improve the quality of care that it provides. With modern, up to date equipment and very experienced staff, the CTSU has the means and expertise to provide the very best that cardio thoracic surgery has to offer. For example, the unit will soon be the first to offer public services utilising the Da Vinci robot. Located in a new surgical suite of the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The unit consists of an integrated Theatres/ICU complex entirely on the same level providing simplicity of proximity and patient care.
