Cadence is a newly registered psychologist with 13 years’ experience working in counselling, case management, and mental health education. She is particularly experienced in the areas of crisis intervention, working with high-risk clients, complex mental health issues, as well as pioneering and developing programs for community education.
Cadence is passionate about working with people who have experienced trauma, abuse and neglect, as well as utilising community education as a strategy to empower people, to prevent mental health issues and to promote wellness at both the individual and community level.
As a counsellor, Cadence is warm, empathic and holistic in her approach, and draws on theories such as ecological theory and trauma theory to inform her analysis. Cadence is practiced in a variety of therapeutic modalities including, Family/Systems Therapy, CBT, play-therapy, psychoanalytic, and mindfulness-based treatments. She enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds, though she has a particular interest in children youth and family work.
