Alex graduated from Newcastle University in 2007 and has worked in a variety of health settings throughout her career. Commencing her graduate year at Westmead Children’s Hospital, she then spent two years at Lady Davidson Rehabilitation Hospital in Sydney developing her skills with neurological and orthopaedic clients.
With a wide variety of experience and the travel bug, Alex relocated to London continuing her work in Neurological Rehabilitation, orthopaedics and Women’s Health. She was fortunate enough to work at Headley Court, the leading military rehabilitation base within the UK. Here Alex treated injured soldiers that had suffered traumatic brain injuries using state of the art technology. She was also a key member of the multidisciplinary team treating patients with challenging behaviours following brain injury at Blackheath Brain Injury Unit in East London.Upon return to Australia in 2013, Alex relocated to Adelaide where she pursued both her interests in Neurological Rehabilitation in both the public and private sectors and Women’s Health at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Alex’s interest in developing her skills in Women’s Health has continued over the past two years and she has completed many courses to increase her knowledge and skill set.Alex finds it very rewarding assisting her clients in achieving their goals and improving their quality of life.Alex is excited to have returned to Newcastle in 2015, to be closer to family and friends and enjoy the work-life balance that Newcastle offers.In her spare time Alex enjoys traveling, camping, going to the beach, keeping active outdoors, and netball. Alex is attempting to complete her first triathlon in the spring.
