9a Anaesthetics is a group of specialist anaesthetists who work in Sydney concentrating on the city’s North Shore area. Some of the Hospitals that we practice in are the Sydney Adventist Hospital, Sydney Adventist Day Surgery, Pennant Hills Day Surgery, Macquarie University Hospital and Norwest Private Hospital.

All anaesthetists in the 9a Group are highly trained medical specialists. We all are Fellows of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and all maintain professional standards including the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists Continuing Medical Education program. We provide excellence in perioperative medicine, regional and general anaesthesia, acute pain management, obstetric anaesthesia and resuscitation.

The 9a Anaesthetics Group was formed in 1977. The group structure allows us to provide better patient care and satisfaction by providing an atmosphere for collegial discussion and by having a central point of contact for patients. However, each of us in the group work independently and determine separately our own type of practice and fees.
