Johan has nearly 15 years experience in the human services sector, including experience in mens counselling services, corporate clinical counselling, private practice and working with clients with severe mental illness. Johan compliments his counselling work with broader roles as a Clinical Manager and Service Development Manager, working in partnership with government funding bodies to develop new services in the mental health sector.
Johan utilises a range of therapeutic interventions to assist clients gain clarity with their situation. Clients learn to better understand their emotions, identify negative/unhelpful patterns in their behaviour and manage stressful situations. Johan in particular looks to clients’ strengths and values as a guide to how they can take immediate action towards leading a more rewarding and fulfilling life. With reflection on strengths and values, clients can also work towards being more empowered and in control of their lives.
Johan has experience with a range of clients from adolescence to the elderly, and working with a range of presentations from those experiencing clinical mental illness, to those seeking coaching and personal growth.
