I am excited to join the team at MAIA Psychology. I am a Clinical & Energy Psychologist and passionate about empowering clients to find the core issues underlying their concerns using evidence based healing techniques. I enjoy working collaboratively with clients in a warm, approachable and non-judgemental manner to assist individuals to recognise their strengths, develop resilience and generally enhance wellbeing in their life.
I have worked in the area of health for many years. I was originally a Registered Nurse and Midwife, working in remote communities as well as busy central hospitals. As time went by, I realised I was more passionate about using a preventative approach and finding the root cause of health issues. As a nurse, I often found there was an emotional aspect to clients’ health issues.
This passion and curiosity led me to study psychology. I have a Bachelor degree with honours in Psychology from Griffith University, and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Bond University. I have been seeing clients in private practice since 2012. I have conducted research and been mentored by leading psychologists in their field in Australia.
I grew up in South East Queensland, and the Gold Coast was my back yard. I devote some of my time to Life 2 Project, a not-for-profit organisation supporting women who have experienced domestic violence. I assist with retreats and we use the healing energy techniques of Matrix Reimprinting and EFT (Tapping) to resolve past traumas, resulting in amazing shifts and insights for the women we work with.
I love to travel, spend time with family and friends and animals. I enjoy being in nature, whether it be at the beach or in my garden. I personally use the strategies and tools that I share with my clients and take good care of my emotional and physical well –being so that I am fully present with my clients in consultations. In other words, I walk the talk and live by my values of being authentic. I look forward to meeting you should you choose to come and see me for support.
