Toowoomba Medical Centre began as a solo general practice situated in a little cottage and grandly named as the original ‘Toowoomba Medical Centre’ in 1985.

Dr Peter Schindler purchased the practice in 1991 and remained as practice principal until February 2023. The practice changed hands and Daniel (Tappies) and Welma Joubert, the new managers, are committed to continue on the foundations built by Dr Schindler, and to honour his legacy of service. The practice recruits independent doctors who listen, care and take the time to get to know their patients.
