Tamar has over 15 years of clinical experience, working for a number of years in a government community health role before moving to private practice. She studied locally, completing her undergraduate degree and clinical postgraduate degree at the University of Newcastle. Tamar enjoys working with clients of all ages, including children, adolescents and adults. She has a special interest in anxiety disorders and trauma but also enjoys working with depression, grief, adjustment disorders, and health and work related issues.
Tamar works primarily from a strengths based perspective, employing Solution-Focused Therapy to assist clients in making changes. Tamar is also trained in a variety of evidence based treatment approaches, including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and mindfulness based interventions.
