Nick is the Head of Physiotherapy at EmPower Better Health. He has worked closely with the EmPower Exercise Physiology (EP) team for years before formally coming on board and joining the team in-house as the first Physiotherapist and multidisciplinary team member.
Nick has worked across many sports including Rugby, Netball, Soccer, AFL and has also helped many Runners return to running following injury. Aka The Tennis Physio, Nick is a Certified Tennis Performance Specialist, and has previously worked for Tennis Australia in Elite Tennis covering Juniors, Adults and Wheelchair events and is now the League Manager for Canberra Heavy Hitters.
Nick has helped people of all ages perform at their best, whether they be an Elite Athlete, a ‘Weekend Warrior’ or the ‘Average Joe’. He can help you with musculoskeletal injuries or pain from head to toe, whether they be from acute/traumatic or overuse/non-traumatic causes.
Nick is passionate about providing a modern day and high-value Physiotherapy service. He has undertaken extra training and coursework over many years to improve his skills as a Clinician to provide the best injury and pain diagnostic and management service. He enjoys ‘giving back’ and mentoring/teaching the next generation of Physiotherapists, including writing blogs on management of musculoskeletal injuries. As well as working with EPs, Nick utilises an Integrative Medicine approach and liaises closely with a professional network of GPs, Sports and Exercise Medicine Physicians, Orthopaedic Specialists, Hand Therapists, Podiatrists and many more.
Nick is an Army Veteran, having previously served for 10 years in the Royal Australian Signals Corp including a tour of Afghanistan in 2007/2008. Having previously worked in Defence as a Physio, Nick enjoys the rewarding experience of helping current and ex-serving members achieve their best in life, including DVA patients. Following discharge, Nick studied and graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Biology) and a Master of Physiotherapy.
