Sue is passionate about mental well-being and healthy relationships.  She is heavily involved in community education around these topics.  She cares deeply about her clients, the community and the world generally. After living in the South West since 1999 Sue and her family recently moved back to Fremantle. Sue completed her six year training as a Registered Psychologist (Generalist) in the country.  Her ongoing work as a country psychologist provided significant opportunity for broad clinical experience.    As a psychologist Sue's practice areas and experience with adults includes:    Anxiety disorders Depression Grief and Loss Adjustment (disability, life transitions, health issues) Pain Management Anger  Antenatal and post natal depression  Trauma Parenting issues Workplace Stress/Bullying Assertiveness Training Stress Management Family of Origin Issues

Therapeutic approaches commonly utilised include:    Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT),  Interpersonal psychotherapy,   Solution focused brief therapy,  Acceptance and commitment therapy, Mindfulness,   Motivational interviewing   Sue is also familiar with other counselling and couples relationship modalities and interventions.   Further detail:    Sue's experience includes several years of assessing and counselling adults with complex comorbid mental and physical  health conditions, many of whom had also had serious psychosocial problems such as criminality and long term unemployment.  Trauma was not uncommon in this cohort.    In contrast to this client group Sue has also provided psychological counselling to a wide range of professionals including those in senior management, academics and peers.  She has experience in mediation, critical incident, vocational rehabilitation and EAP. She also currently leads the development of EAP services at Relationships Australia.    Sue is an experienced group facilitator and has additional qualifications in this area. She has facilitated learning  within corporate, school, university and community settings in the areas of stress management, grief and loss, managing depression and anxiety, suicide prevention, workplace bullying/harassment, conflict resolution, parenting skills and many other topics.    Sue works part time in a senior role in Community Education at Relationships Australia researching, developing,  trialling and training in  psycho-education programs for delivery to professionals and the community. She is keen to develop and facilitate psycho-therapeutic groups in private practice.    She is happily  married and usually has a houseful of people including  kids, overseas students or other visitors. Her interests are reading, travelling with her husband,  cooking and spending time with friends.
