Sophie graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1995 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She completed her Masters of Physiotherapy (Sports) in 2005 and was awarded the Sports Physiotherapy Australia Prize. Sophie has a special interest in exercise for rehabilitation.

Sophie has worked with a variety of sporting teams including football, rugby, netball and water polo. She worked part time at the Carlton Football Club from 2007 – 2012.

Sophie has research experience with aquatic physiotherapy, core stability, hip and knee arthritis, back pain and sport. In addition to her Sports Masters qualification she has completed some further professional development in Clinical Pilates and Dry Needling.

In 2008 Sophie was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to travel to Europe and the USA to further investigate innovations in Aquatic Physiotherapy. She also does some lecturing through the Australian Physiotherapy Association courses and at Monash University. In 2012 she was a keynote speaker at the South African Society of Physiotherapy conference. She also works at a variety of hydrotherapy pools in Melbourne for Aquatic Physio Exercise Australia.

Sophie’s recent experience has involved a project to develop a cancer rehabilitation program at Peninsula Health.
