Sindy is a dedicated and compassionate Psychologist. Sindy has worked in a variety of settings, including community health, government, private mental health hospital and private practice. Her clients include children, adolescents, adults, and families. She has extensive professional experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and supporting clients presenting with a wide range of issues.
Sindy is committed to helping her clients enhance the quality of their lives by working collaboratively to achieve their treatment goals and move beyond their current circumstances. She believes in creating a therapeutic relationship that values the strengths and vulnerabilities of each individual, and in providing a supportive and caring space in which people can feel safe to share their thoughts and feelings. Sindy has particular interest working with families and is passionate about helping to create a nurturing and positive environment, through strategies that reduce conflict and empower parents and children alike.
Sindy incorporates techniques from a range of evidence-based therapy models in her sessions, depending on the needs of the client, including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. In her work with children diagnosed with developmental disorders she draws on strategies from Applied Behaviour Analysis and the Early Start Denver Model. Sindy is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin. She is currently conducting her masters research on obesity and weight management. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
