Rachel Munnink is a registered Podiatrist who has predominately worked in private practice since completing her studies at LaTrobe University. Rachel has particular interest in Biomechanics and management of musculoskeletal injuries of the foot and lower limb, and has completed additional qualifications in Foot Mobilisation and Manipulation Techniques (FMT) and Dry Needling. She applies a holistic approach when developing a treatment plan with focus on conservative treatment, footwear, activity, gait assessment, orthotic therapy and exercise programs. Foot Mobilisations and Manipulation can be used to treat a range of foot pathologies or musculoskeletal conditions to restore normal joint function and range of motion, aiding the body in creating physiological changes to postural alignment.
She is also passionate about Diabetic foot care management and education. Rachel is a firm believer in early intervention and prevention of complications associated with chronic conditions, such as Diabetes Mellitus, arthritis, kidney or heart disease, whilst encouraging a holistic approach to patient care. Rachel loves working with all patients who are young – and young at heart! She has considerable experience treating the ageing community and enjoys management of various conditions such as arthritis and wound management, keeping clients comfortable and ambulatory.
Rachel is a member of the Australian Podiatric Association and the Australasian Academy of Podiatry Sports Medicine through which she completes professional development, receiving the most up to date, evidence based treatment.
