PJ Pradhan is an occupational therapist who has a range of experience working with children, adolescent and adult population. PJ has recently moved from Sydney to Hobart and prior to coming to Hobart, PJ has worked in the capacity of an intake in-charge and team leader for acute mental health service in Sydney, NSW. PJ is an endorsed mental health clinician who was actively engaged in providing crisis assessment, counselling and management of severe and enduring mental illness and mental disorders such as borderline personality disorder, adjustment disorder, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety using a range of therapies including occupational therapy based approaches, focused psychological counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy and Project Air strategies.
PJ has 12 years of experience as an occupational therapist and six years of NSW public mental health experience (two years in inpatient mental health setting with first episode psychosis and mood disorder and four years in community mental health setting- with a range of mental health diagnoses). Further, PJ has worked in a private practice under Medicare and National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) for a period of four years- part-time, delivering focused psychological counselling, multicultural gambling counselling, transcultural mental health counselling and paediatric occupational therapy services.
PJ has completed a graduate certificate in Child and Adolescent Mental Health via the Institute of psychiatry and has a special interest in working with children and adolescent population.
Parallelly, PJ has maintained a practice in paediatric population especially with Autism Spectrum Disorder and challenging behaviour. PJ is also trained under the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) for a period of eight months delivering ESDM services- early intervention model for children with autism and has also been trained in Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA). PJ has conducted a research on sensory integration Inventory-Revised for Individual with Developmental Disabilities as a part of his graduation completion and possesses skills in the identification and management of sensory processing disorder
