Nikki Collins is a paediatric speech pathologist with a special focus on infant and paediatric feeding difficulties. Nikki completed her Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Speech Pathology at La Trobe University in 2012. She initially worked in the private sector before commencing a role in the public sector with Northern Health. In this role, Nikki worked with babies in the Special Care Nursery, paediatric inpatient unit and outpatient clinics. Nikki gained experience with infants and children presenting with feeding difficulties as a result of reflux, congenital heart disease, chronic lung disease, prematurity, developmental delay, tube feeding and selective eating patterns.
Nikki recently returned from the United Kingdom where she worked in the public and educational settings with children with feeding, communication, speech and social communication difficulties. This included a busy feeding clinic where Nikki worked closely with children with medical and neurological conditions, developmental delay and disability. Nikki has worked collaboratively with families, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians and medical professionals to provide individual and group assessment and therapy.
Nikki also has a role with Babble & Munch Speech Pathology in Eltham, a private practice focusing on infant and paediatric feeding and early communication skills.
Outside of work Nikki enjoys cooking, traveling, running and spending time with her family and friends.
