Mary-Ann is the Principal Audiologist at Always Hearing and has over 18 years of experience. She completed a Bachelor of Science at The University of Melbourne in 1997 before going on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Audiological Science in 1998 and Master of Clinical Audiology degree in 1999, also both at The University of Melbourne. Mary-Ann is a full member of the Audiological Society of Australia with a current Certificate of Clinical Practice (CCP).
Mary-Ann keeps up to date with developments in hearing health evaluation and services, including the latest digital hearing aids. She attends conferences and seminars as part of her Continuing Professional Development to make sure she retains best practice in the provision of hearing evaluation and services. In her 18+ years of experience, Mary-Ann has worked in a variety of roles including both the public and private hearing aid sectors in Australia, for both small and large companies. She has also worked in the Cochlear Implant field for Cochlear Ltd in a Research Audiologist role and as a member of the Cochlear Implant team at the Eye and Ear Hospital.
Mary-Ann has a younger brother who was born with a hearing loss that has progressed to a profound level over the years and who has worn hearing aids since the age of 18 months. Mary-Ann feels very passionate about helping people and seeing the improvements in people’s quality of life, which good hearing and hearing health can provide. She enjoys working with people and getting to know them. Her experience provides her with a unique understanding of the difficulties that people with hearing loss face, how it impacts on their life and the life of those around them. Mary-Ann also understands the strategies to put in place to transition to an improved hearing situation with a minimum of difficulty and stress.
When Mary-Ann isn’t working, she enjoys renovating with her husband, Andrew. She also enjoys reading, music, bike riding and travelling with her husband and their 2 daughters.
