Clinical neuropsychologists provide assessments and treatment recommendations for people experiencing difficulties with memory, learning, attention, language, reading, problem-solving, decision-making or other aspects of behaviour and thinking abilities. Linda has worked in neurological rehabilitation settings in Melbourne and Dublin, Ireland supporting individuals and their families following an acquired brain injury (ABI) arising from trauma, such as road traffic accidents, falls and assaults; concussion; alcohol and substance use issues; and neurological conditions, such as stroke, multiple sclerosis and brain tumours.

She has an evidence-based, person-centred and collaborative approach to neuropsychological assessments. An important part of her work is enhancing emotional and psychological well-being through counselling and therapy, particularly in individuals who may be adjusting to changes in their physical and cognitive abilities as a consequence of an ABI. Her interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) arose from a desire to provide effective and humanistic interventions for neuropsychology clients. She has deepened her knowledge and passion for ACT through her work as a general psychologist in private practice where she provides counselling to assist clients experiencing a range of psychological issues to move forward in a valued direction, develop an alternative perspective or learn more effective ways of coping.

WHAT TYPES OF CLIENTS DOES LINDA WORK WITH?

Linda works with adults (age 18 and over) and older adults (age 65 and over), as well as their families and key supports. In addition to neuropsychological assessments and medico-legal assessments, she provides counselling for a range of psychological concerns.
