After completing her Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, Jenna has focused her passion of early intervention into a career working with children and their families. She went on to gain clinical endorsement, with an emphasis on developmental delays and behavioural issues.
Jenna has worked in hospital, community health and private practice settings, across a range of psychological difficulties. She enjoys working in a cross spectrum multi discipline environments and continues to engage with paediatricians, occupational therapists, speech therapists and dieticians to ensure a holistic approach to client wellbeing.
Jenna's strengths are working with families in the assessment and diagnosis of developmental delays, learning disorders and attention difficulties (ADHD), conducting and reporting on cognitive, learning, behaviour and adaptive assessments. Jenna prides herself on the establishment of best-practice, evidenced-based assessments and treatment approaches at Capital Psychology Clinic.
Therapeutically, Jenna is very experienced in the support of perinatal and infant issues, such as post-natal depression, preparation and adjustment to parenting, sleep and settling, attachment and bonding. Jenna is also skilled in various evidence-based therapeutic individual and group approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Solution Focused approaches, and programs such as Circle of Security and Cool Kids.
Jenna’s academic research has been published in the journal “Mental Health and Substance Use” on “Personality factors as predictors of programme completion of drug therapeutic communities”.
In 2016 Jenna realised her goal of providing a family focused psychology service to the Canberra region by engaging with Dr Eryn Davies and creating the Capital Psychology Clinic. Jenna is a mother and wife to a growing family who enjoys working within the community.
