Mia believes osteopathy’s holistic approach to healthcare allows her to gain a deep understanding of your needs. Mia creates an environment where you will feel comfortable and safe, whilst feeling confident that you are receiving a high quality service. Her vast knowledge and understanding of different sports allows for an understanding of the strains that can be placed on your body and how she can assist you to overcome them. Mia graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Health Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathy) and Bachelor of Applied Science (Complementary Medicine). During that time, Mia worked as an osteopath in a sports medicine hospital in India where she worked alongside orthopaedic surgeons with pre and post-operative patients for treatment and rehabilitation. She also has three years experience as a sports trainer for football and soccer clubs. Currently, in addition to working at Spring Osteo, Mia works with an exercise physiologist to further her knowledge of mobility exercises and she is the rowing coach for Caulfield Grammar School. Mia’s areas of interests are sports injuries and rehabilitation, particularly rowing, running, and football injuries. She is also interested in chronic pain recovery, rowing biomechanics (to enable rowers to reach their highest potential with the aid of osteopathic treatment) and how to use Pilates to improve mobility. Mia is a qualified DMA Pilates instructor and will be taking 1:1 and small group pilates classes in addition to her osteopathic appointments. Mia stays fit by running, playing football, training with an exercise physiologist and coaching rowing. Mia is available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
