Cathy is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist, with a Bachelor of Speech Therapy from the University of Queensland. She is a local, born and raised in the Tweed valley. Her professional work experience began with the Qld Education Department servicing schools and pre-schools in Cairns, and acute adult services at the Gold Coast hospital.

In 1990 she returned to the Tweed treating paediatric and adult clients at the Murwillumbah Hospital and Community Health Centre. For the last 20 years she has been the Senior Speech Pathologist at the Tweed Heads Hospital providing services to a wide variety of patients. She also provided clinical supervision of the speech pathologists in the Tweed-Murwillumbah local health district, and speech pathology students from Queensland, Sydney and Newcastle universities as required.


Cathy has extensive experience working in multidisciplinary health teams to provide the best holistic care for patients. Children with speech and language difficulties can be assisted to improve their pronunciation, fluency, understanding and expression, through tailored therapy programs.

Cathy has substantial experience with adults who have have suffered strokes, head and neck cancers, voice disorders, and a range of neurological diseases. She provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment of their communication and swallowing disorders. She has specialty training in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment program for Parkinson's patients.

Cathy is married with three school aged daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family, and they keep her very busy.
