Caren holds a Masters in psychology and has been working as a psychologist for over 15 years. She has worked in adolescent mental health (including at the Albert Road Centre for Health, Albert Road Clinic, Wesley College and headspace) and has worked with adult clients for over ten years. Her areas of expertise include working with people who present with high prevalence disorders (anxiety and depression), grief, and loss, coping with illness, stress related problems, alcohol and drug use (dual diagnosis), life transition issues, relationship issues, school related issues such as bullying, self-harm and parenting issues. Caren uses a range of therapeutic approaches, including a psychodynamic orientation, CBT, mindfulness, schema therapy, solution focussed therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. She does believe, however, that the therapeutic relationship is paramount to good outcomes in patients.
