Ben is a fully registered psychologist and is currently completing the registrar program for endorsement as a clinical psychologist. Ben uses an integrative approach to therapy to tailor individual treatment plans to best meet his clients’ needs utilising existing strengths to promote self-understanding and personal growth. He draws on a number of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Ben focuses on providing a warm, empathic and collaborative therapeutic relationship. Ben has primarily worked with adults in individual therapy in a variety of hospital, private, and community settings. He has provided clinical assessment and treatment for people experiencing anxiety and depression, as well as those with difficulties in regulating emotion and with interpersonal relationships. Ben enjoys working with clients from diverse backgrounds and communities and has a particular interest in working with those experiencing difficulties with sexuality, gender identity, and in the area of sexual health. In support of his clinical work, Ben’s Master’s thesis explored the applicability of a model of health psychology to condom use, and a planningbased intervention aimed at increasing condom use with casual partners. Ben has over 7 years working within psychology research at the University of Sydney. He has published research in international journals and presented research at international conferences.
