Anne gained her qualifications in Physiotherapy and Exercise Science from Griffith University. She is originally from the UK and is a huge advocate for dance health, holding membership with the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science and One Dance UK.
Prior to training as a physiotherapist, Anne worked as a professional dancer, teacher and choreographer in both the UK and Australia. She graduated from the London Contemporary Dance School in 2001 with first class honours, performing work by Siobhan Davies, Richard Alston and Mark Baldwin, then worked for Oblique Dance Company and JazzXchange before moving to Australia in 2004.
Anne has had many experiences teaching dance and choreographing, including work for the Gold Coast Dancers Company and MAD Dance House, Brisbane. For a while, she had her own dance company ‘Company 44’ which performed at the ‘Resolution!’ season at The Place in 2005 and incorporated in-school education programs. She has also co-ordinated specialised dance programs in the UK including ‘Classical Scholars’ which involved training elite classical dancers in technique, strength conditioning and injury prevention.
Her other interests include Women’s Health and Clinical Pilates. Anne has trained with pelvic floor specialist Pauline Chiarelli and also undertook further professional development in pregnancy and post-natal Pilates. She has completed Stott Pilates Matwork and Reformer courses as well as the APPI equipment modules.
In 2011, Anne represented Queensland as physiotherapist for the Indoor Junior Netball Finals held in Adelaide. She is a proud Queenslander and Rabbitohs supporter!
Outside of work she makes the most of the Australian outdoor lifestyle, enjoying music festivals and camping trips, especially on Stradbroke Island. She has a young baby boy and is slowly getting used to life as a busy mummy!
