Alexandra graduated from Auckland University of Technology in 2013 with a Bachelor of Health Science in Physiotherapy. Prior to this, Alexandra completed a Bachelor of Physical Education from Otago University making her an experienced and skillful instructor across a vast array of disciplines from dance to clinical pilates.
Prior to starting with Recover Sports Medicine, Alexandra worked in both hospital and private practice settings as a rotational physiotherapist and musculoskeletal physiotherapist. Alexandra was also the physiotherapist for the Ivanhoe Football Club (2015) and the Forrest Hill Women's Premier Soccer Club (2014).
Alexandra has always had a keen interest in the medical, health and sporting industry. She loves being physically active and is dedicated to helping people in the community improve their fitness, strength and overall wellbeing. Alexandra has a strong background in sport and fitness, working as a personal trainer, aerobics instructor and dance teacher. Alexandra’s passion for the industry stems from her own sporting background as a professional dancer for the Highlanders Cheerleading Team, competing professionally in Equestrian events since the age of seven, and her participation in Triathlon events. As well as this, she has a strong sense of adventure for the outdoors, which has lead to her to obtain her Open Water (Scuba) Diving Certificate. Throughout her years of experience, Alexandra has developed a passion for exercise based rehabilitation, clinical pilates, wrist and hand injuries and sporting injuries.
Alexandra has joined the team at Recover Sports Medicine and will be utilizing the 3D BioMotion Centre, Anti Gravity Alter-G Treadmill, Real Time Ultrasound, and instructing one on one as well as group Clinical Pilates sessions to help provide complete care and rehabilitation to patients.
