Mr Tomin Mooney (Neurologist)

Dr Mooney is a Neurologist with special interest in Epilepsy and general Neurology.

After completing his Neurology training in India in 2005 he moved to Australia in 2006 working the first two years in Launceston, Tasmania as a senior registrar in Neurology followed by a Stroke Fellow year at Monash Medical Centre Melbourne before starting as a Staff Specialist Neurologist at the Nambour General Hospital, Sunshine coast in 2009 and has continued in that position ever since and through the transition of services to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital.

Although he has a subspecialty interest in epilepsy, he is a generalist at core and sees patients with all neurological conditions including headaches, movement disorders, neuropathies, muscle disorders, multiple sclerosis, stroke, cognitive impairment and undifferentiated neurological problems.

His teaching commitments extend from the medical residents to the basic physician trainees and Neurology Advanced trainees of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health service.

He believes in spending time with the patients and listening to them and he works in close collaboration with the other Neurologists and Stroke physicians of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health service.

He has a hospital appointment at SCUH.
