Simon is a Commonwealth-Accredited Podiatric Surgeon, specialising in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He has a particular interest in the field of limb preservation, bunion surgery and quality of life in foot and ankle pathology. Simon undertook his specialist training in podiatric surgery with the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons in Melbourne in 2003 and was awarded Fellowship with the College in 2009. He gained further clinical and surgical experience overseas through preceptorships in UK and US with leaders in the field of podiatry. He has dedicated over 13 years of education and training specific to foot and ankle care. As an expert in his field, Simon has published scientific and surgical technique papers in international podiatric and foot and ankle surgery journals. He is a renown speaker at state and national podiatry conferences. He also dedicates his time to lecturing on podiatric surgery and anaesthesia with the Department of Podiatry at La Trobe University.
