Mr Matthew Brailey (Psychologist)

Mr Matthew Brailey is a warm, down-to-earth and knowledgeable Psychologist. Matt holds a Master of Counselling Psychology from Macquarie University. He has been working with adults, couples, children, adolescents and families in government settings. For example, he has worked at the Family Court with couples and families in distress, conflict, and domestic violence. 

His key areas of expertise include: relationships, grief and loss, gambling, drug and alcohol therapy, couple and family therapy, anxiety and depression. Matt uses a variety of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution focussed interventions, Couples therapy based on John Gottman's work, and Family Systems Therapy.

Matt is particularly interested in the challenges that can arise in relationships. These include: relationships with partners, family members, friends and colleagues. His couples work focusses on rebuilding intimacy, trust, communication and collaboration. He also works with families during separation to effect positive outcome during challenging times.

During his career, Matt has given many seminars to groups of clients, health professionals and students on a variety of topics. He also delivers marriage preparation training which focusses on maintaining/improving relationships and identifying factors which may reduce relationship satisfaction or lead to separation.

Matt is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia & Medicare Australia.
