Hrefna completed her Master of Musculoskeletal physiotherapy in 2013 from the University of Melbourne. She is a former gymnast and has a special interest in treating gymnastic and other sports related injuries. She worked with the Melbourne University rugby club, women’s team, in 2016 and with the Icelandic women’s National ice hockey team in 2014.
Hrefna also has an interest in pre- and postnatal rehabilitation and instructed a postpartum exercise course for women with babies from 3-12 months for two years.
Before relocating to Melbourne, Hrefna lived in Reykjavik, Iceland and practise in a private clinic after completing her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iceland in 2008. Along with her work at the clinic she worked for a public health company, giving lectures on ergonomics within companies and as a part of a continuous education program for health professionals.
