Louise is a registered psychologist with a Masters in Clinical Psychology and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). She believes in creating an empathetic and non-judgmental space where goals can be set and worked towards based on mutual trust and respect. Sessions with Louise are collaborative and her therapeutic approach is guided by each person's individual needs and experiences. Louise has experience working with a wide range of mental health issues.
Louise is passionate about, and advocates for, survivors of childhood abuse and neglect. She is a member of The Blue Knot Foundation - National Centre of Excellence for Complex Trauma and engages in continuous professional development in this area. Rather than ask 'what's wrong with you?' Louise instead asks 'what happened to you?' This reflects the perspective that complex trauma is a result of external events, that is, that what happened in your childhood is not who you are, it is what happened to you.
