Jessica Wu (Psychologist)

Jessica is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and a member of the Australian Psychological Society. Jessica has worked in the public sector, University counselling services and in schools, offering assessment and counselling to individuals across the lifespan. She has facilitated skills based programs for children and adolescents with a range of emotional and behavioural issues including autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), intellectual disabilities, trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and relationship issues. Jessica takes on an eclectic and holistic approach to therapy and adopts a range of evidence-based treatments including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), play-based therapy, motivational interviewing, interpersonal therapy, and applied behavioural analysis (ABA). She works collaboratively with her clients to achieve their therapeutic goal; tailoring her treatment to the individual child in a developmentally and age-appropriate way. Jessica places great value in building a relationship with her clients based on empathy, positive regard, and authenticity. Her aim is to provide a safe, respectful, and supportive space to empower the individual to make positive and meaningful changes in their lives.
