Welcome to the website for Hunter Gastroenterology, a group practice in general gastroenterology with members who have particular interest in conditions affecting the liver, biliary system and pancreas as well as GI malignancy, particularly colon cancer, and inflammatory bowel disease.

Currently, medical gastroenterology consultations are available with Dr Stephen Philcox. Dr Robert Gibson and Dr Lay Gan who all deliver quality care in clinical gastroenterology, hepatology, pancreatology and endoscopic procedures in the Hunter region with procedures performed at John Hunter Hospital and Hunter Valley Private Hospital. Surgical consultation is also available with Dr Stan Chen who has a particular interest in upper gastrointestinal surgery, particularly the liver and pancreas; he operates at Newcastle Private Hospital and Linguard Private Hospital.
