Zina Valaydon is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist. She graduated from The University of Melbourne with a double degree in Medicine and Surgery and Biomedical Science. She completed her physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. She undertook specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the Austin Hospital. She was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians in 2015. Zina is currently completing a PhD at the University of Melbourne in collaboration with the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, conducting research in hepatitis B. ​ Zina maintains a broad range of interests in all areas of gastroenterology and hepatology, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), coeliac disease, reflux disease, functional bowel disorders (including irritable bowel syndrome) and liver diseases. ​ Zina regularly attends and speaks at local meetings as well as national and international conferences. She is also actively involved in medical training of students and gastroenterology trainees and holds a teaching appointment with the University of Melbourne. ​ Zina works at St Vincent’s Hospital and The Royal Melbourne Hospital and consults privately at Central Melbourne Gastroenterology.
