Dr Yen Tran is a medical oncologist who completed her medical training with the University of Melbourne at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Her specialty training in medical oncology in 2007-2008 was at the Austin and Royal Melbourne Hospitals. Subsequently she worked under the supervision of Associate Professor Ian Davis and Professor Johnathan Cebon in 2009 as a medical research fellow at the Austin hospital participating in clinical and research work in multiple pivotal international phase 1 to phase 3 clinical trials in all areas of oncology. Dr Tran’s main areas of interest include: uro-oncology, neuro-oncology, breast, and lung cancer. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and Medical Oncology Group of Australia. She takes an active role with the University of Melbourne as a clinical tutor for medical students and advanced medical trainees. She currently holds a consultant oncology position at the Ballarat base hospital. Dr Tran firmly believes in a holistic approach to patient care whilst maintaining efficiency, compassion and honesty.
