Yau graduated from the University of NSW in 2004 and completed his internship and residency years at St George and Hornsby Hospitals. During this time he gained experience in Psychiatry, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ICU, General Medicine, General and Orthopaedic Surgery and Emergency. Yau also spent a term as the senior medical resident in Griffith Base Hospital. Yau went on to complete his General Practice training, gaining his fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. He worked in various practices including Hornsby, Penrith and Grafton before settling in Norwest General Practice. Yau’s special postings included a 6 month stint as a registrar in the palliative care service of Greenwich Hospital, and working in the Family Planning NSW Clinic in Ashfield where he obtained his certificate in Sexual and Reproductive Health.
Yau thoroughly enjoys all aspects of General Practice, particularly the opportunity of getting to know his patients over a period of time and being able to provide continuity of care. He has an interest in managing mental health issues, and is also experienced in Men’s, Women’s and Children’s Health.
