Wendy is a clinical psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Wendy completed a PhD in psychology in 2011 investigating the effects of chronic medical conditions on life satisfaction and psychological wellbeing, and an additional eight years of psychology training to become qualified as a clinical psychologist. Wendy’s therapeutic approaches include Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) for PTSD and complex trauma; Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT); Trauma-focused Therapy; Solution-focused Therapy; Interpersonal Psychotherapy; Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness-based Therapy. Wendy is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, Australian Clinical Psychology Association, and the International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies. Wendy’s psychology experience includes working in private hospital settings delivering psychology education, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy to in-patient and day program groups; Gender Clinic work with clients experiencing gender dysphoria; psychology team member in a publicly-funded continuing care service for clients with ongoing complex needs, placement with the Program of Experience in the Palliative Approach (PEPA), and general practice clinic work covering a wide range of issues with clients from all walks of life. Wendy’s main client focus is on assisting with anxiety (general anxiety, panic, phobias, OCD – hoarding, PTSD and complex trauma), depression, grief and loss, life transitions, managing intense emotions, interpersonal relationships (individual counselling), and palliative care support.
