Dr. Dilani Wijerante (MBBS,MD, FRANZCP) is a consultant psychiatrist at the Austin Hospital, Melbourne. Dr. Wijeratne graduated from Flinders University South Australia. She then completed her internship at Flinders Medical Centre. She became interested in Psychiatry since she was an intern. She underwent advanced traning in adult Psychiatry in several state of the art centres in Psychiatry ( Christchurch Hospital, New Zealand, Royal Adelaide Hospital, South Australia, North Western Mental Health Services, Victoria to name a few). She became a Fellow, Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrist and took up a consultant Psychiatrist position at Austin hospital since 2007. She is a Fellow, American Psychiatry Association. She was invited to be an international advisor , Sri Lanka Association for Study of Pain in 2008.She works in adult psychiatry with a special interest in psychosis, mood , anxiety disorders and cognitive behavioral psychotherapy.
