I studied at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. I completed my degree in 1988 and have worked as a General Practitioner for twenty four years.

I spent time in the United Kingdom working in Ear, Nose and Throat surgery and with leading specialists in orthopaedic surgery.

My family and I moved to Australia in 2002 and my initial employment was in rural Victoria. These positions included working in rural hospitals and in General Practice. In December 2002 I completed my fellowship exams with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. My family and I obtained our citizenship in 2005.

While working in rural Victoria, I gained experience in Hospital emergency departments and had the pleasure of serving the local communities. My first job in 1990 as a newly qualified doctor was to serve in the South African Defence Force. This involved seeing air force personnel and their families. During that period I studied Aviation Medicine and was responsible for examining pilots and assessing their fitness to fly.

I have also worked in a Paediatric facility where I gained experience with childhood illness and the effect this has on their families.

I am married and have two daughters. My passion in medicine has always been for General Practice, and I believe in a holistic approach to both preventative and curative medicine.

My special interest is Mental Health.

Also works alternate Saturdays from 9am to 3pm.
