Dr Vincent Chow is a general cardiologist who graduated with Honours from the University of New South Wales, and completed his cardiology specialist training and echocardiography fellowship at Concord Hospital in 2010.
Dr Chow is a Staff Specialist at Concord Hospital and has admitting rights at Concord Hospital and Macquarie University Hospital. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, and teaches medical students and junior doctors at the University of Sydney. He completed his PhD in 2014 on long-term cardiac dysfunction and inflammation in systemic diseases at the University of Sydney, and his research was supported by an Australian Postgraduate Award Scholarship. He has particular interests in cardiac function and cardiac biomarkers in settings of drug and disease states. He has published various research articles in peer-reviewed journals, and has presented at various national and international academic conferences.
Dr Chow was integral in developing the Psychiatric Cardiology clinical and research program at Concord Hospital and continues to provide a pioneering service in the care of psychiatry patients with cardiac disorders. His clinical interests also include pre-operative cardiac risk assessment, heart failure, screening and management of cardiac side-effects in patients receiving cardiotoxic drugs (chemotherapy, antipsychotic medications), coronary heart disease and cardiac echocardiography.
