Dr Tuicolo obtained his primary medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1975. He undertook Specialist training both here in Australia and in the United Kingdom. He then worked in Fiji and England prior to returning to Australia to settle in Portland, Western Victoria as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in 1988.
Dr Tuicolo moved to the Fraser Coast in 1997 as Consultant and Specialist at both Maryborough Base Hospital and St Stephen’s Private Hospital. He became Senior Clinical Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology attached to the Southern Clinical School of the University of Queensland Medical School, based at the Logan Hospital, between 2000 and 2006, when he moved to Private Practice at the North Brisbane Private Hospital and gradually built up his practice since 2001, ultimately moving out in 2006. He is currently in his 14th year of practicing at North West Private Hospital.
The doctor is well versed and skilled in both operative and high risk obstetrics with a special interest in gestational diabetes, multiple pregnancies and hypertension in pregnancy. Dr Tuicolo also offers the option of a safe vaginal birth after caesarean section (VBAC) and safe alternative managements of breech presentations, particularly in mothers who have previously had normal vaginal births.
